Lea Sok, MSW, LCSW
Individual & Group Therapist
My name is Leap Sok, but you can call me Lea! I have over 15 years of social services experience. I attended the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in New York, where I built relationships to continue connecting to diverse groups of people and communities while enhancing my social work knowledge. I am a native New Yorker but have had the opportunity to move to Rhode Island in 2017. Since moving to Rhode Island, I have enjoyed the community I serve and live around. I have continued serving and working with vulnerable populations no matter the location. My specialty in the field of social work is Clinical Mental Health. Throughout my academic and professional career, I have honed in my specialty by working for several agencies and populations, such as HIV/AIDS, Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral Health, and Child Welfare. My ultimate goal as a psychotherapist is to be impactful to the community and clients I will and continue to serve.
Lauren Brooke-Yattaw, MS, LMHCA
Individual & Group Therapist
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, I came to RI over 30 years ago to attend Rhode Island School of Design
where I graduated with a BA in Illustration and an MA in Community Based Art Education. Until retiring 2
years ago, I taught art in various schools and community settings. During the pandemic, many of my
students experienced stress, depression and debilitating anxiety. As an art teacher, I did not feel properly
equipped to help them deal with these very serious issues. This led me to embark on a new career path
as a mental health counselor. I began by participating in a program that trained individuals to become
dually certified peer recovery specialists and community health workers, while simultaneously working
toward a second master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling.
Through my professional career as an artist and teacher, resource broker and mental health clinician, I
have developed a strong interest in motivational interviewing (MI), trauma informed cognitive behavioral
therapy (CBT), and creative arts as they relate to Behavioral Health and Wellness Counseling. I am also
a strong believer that many of the issues that people have stem from various adverse childhood
experiences and traumatic experiences and that traditional therapies aren’t always the best path to
wellness. I bring with me a wealth of knowledge that I have gained professionally and in my personal
journey to wellness. As a lifelong advocate for people with mental health concerns and disabilities, I
understand the barriers that prevent people from seeking and following through with mental health
services. I believe in developing a relationship of trust with clients and listening to the needs of each client
to help them navigate social, educational, and healthcare systems and become more self-aware
participants in the process of achieving overall wellness.
It takes us our entire lives to get to where we currently are. Changes do not happen overnight, but with
commitment to living our best lives, we can embark on a journey of creating meaningful change and
transformation, leading to an improved sense of overall health and wellbeing.
